This is a takeaway spot. No area to eat, but if you are craving fish and chips at a good value, then I would gladly choose this spot again. On Tuesdays, it's free free small chips. You don't need to upgrade the chips because it's huge. They are freshly made and we even saw a guy in the back with 2 huge garbage size bins filled with water and potatoes. One side was unpeeled and the other bin was for the peeled potatoes. He was fast and made it look great since we knew the potatoes were fresh.
The large cod is basically an entire fish (realistically half), but also very big. It was tasty, crispy even though we ate it after 20 min of walking in the cold and it very well cooked.
My only wish was this place would have somewhere to enjoy the food fresh because the bag and the fries were a bit greasy. Had it been just 10 min longer, everything probably would have been soggy.
I would come back. -

It's a bare bones, no seat takeaway chippy on a side street, but it does the job.
In fact, for 1.40 you can warm up a cold evening with a giant cone of big, fat chips. -

I live locally to this fish and chip shop. I prefer to go somewhere else. There is nowhere to sit, it's very small and cramped so if there is a rush of people most have to stand outside, if they are busy they often forget your order or over charge, it is always so greasy it falls through the paper and worse still me and the family always get a dodgy stomach after.

These chips here don't quite look like normal fish and chip shop chips, but they taste right and that's the most important thing. I found them perfectly nice.
This place is located just off the main street, but there might be a sign out there to help point you in the right direction, that's how I found the place.
I don't like Oval much though. I have lived and socialized along the northern line from Kennington to Tooting and around Oval is the area I feel the least safe in.
